Speakers Bureau / Rachel Fredericks
Bio:
After about a decade as an ethics professor, Rachel left her university position to become an independent scholar, partly so she could spend more time on climate activism. She then moved to Chicago in 2022. While Rachel still does a fair amount of academic research on various ethical and other philosophical topics (see more bio at www.rachelfredericks.com), she sometimes misses being in the classroom with students! She credits one of her favorite elementary school teachers with sparking her interest in what we now call the climate crisis.
A bit more:
Rachel never stopped being the theatre/speech team kid she was in high school, but as an adult she channels that love of performance into any chance she gets to help people learn. A curious person herself, she tries to meet audiences where they are, and is always on the lookout for ways for audience members to actively participate.
